Our Industrial Blasting & Painting Service Process
We start the process by conducting a comprehensive pressure cleaning of the surface to remove salts and surface contaminants. Our team constructs containments to eliminate damage to nearby items and dust control from the media blasting process.
We use high performance blasting equipment to remove any existing coatings, corrosion and rust, and all remaining contaminants. Depending on the area, application, and substrate layer, we use a variety of different abrasive materials in our abrasive blasting process to ensure proper cleaning and corrosion removal including:
- Black Beauty (Coal Slag)
- Crushed Glass
- Copper Slag
- Walnut Shells
- Silica Sand
- Dry Ice
Our team uses powerful vacuums to control dust production created by the abrasive blasting process and also uses these vacuums to clean up all the spent abrasive material in the area once the industrial blasting services are complete to ensure your space remains clean and safe.
Strong Mechanical Bond
We profile the substrate to the coating system set forth by the manufacturer so the new epoxy coating has a clean and properly prepped surface to form a strong mechanical bond. Our team tests the surface profile for the presence of salts to ensure the surface has been cleaned properly, enabling the new coating to be applied within all product specifications per the data sheets. Then, our team professionally sprays an appropriate epoxy coating system to preserve the substrate, ensuring it is durable and long lasting. Our team tests for dry film thickness to ensure the epoxy coating has been applied to product specifications concerning dry film thickness and adequate protection.
Our team utilizes both single leg airless pumps and plural component pumps manufactured by Graco to spray apply thick epoxy coatings at up to 7,000 psi. We use a variety of solvent based primers, solvent based epoxy coating systems, urethanes, and high solids / 100% solid thick Novolac epoxy coating systems to ensure the surface area is protected for years to come. We use a variety of different products depending on the application from leading coating manufacturers including PPG, International, Sherwin-Williams Industrial, Jotun, Belzona, 3M, and Sigma Guard.
